The End of March.

Upon finishing a series of books, do you ever feel a bit lost? Like suddenly the friends who have become dear are suddenly gone?
I do.
I've spent so much time now growing attached to characters, watching them grow through joys, triumphs, griefs, shame, love, and victory. I've seen them grow from childhood into wise adults and then saw their children do the same. I feel a bit of attachment to them now.
But now I have finished the last book and, as the writer puts it, the curtain has forever fallen on the March family.
What to read now? Any suggestions?

I usually have to take some time after finishing a book (or series of books) before diving into another one. Like I need to digest what I read or mourn the loss of no longer reading about those characters I came to know and love. :)

I always feel sad and sometimes even grieved at the end of a good book series. Right now I'm reading the Anne of Green Gables series :) Amazingly I think I've only read them once or twice. I'd also suggest reading some France Rivers books. She develops her characters so well and her stories are so gripping I can hardly put her books down! I read her Mark of the Lion series last year and loved them! Have you ever read her work before?

Thanks, Suzanne. I don't believe I've read any of her works, though I've heard the name mentioned often. I'll have to check out some of her stuff.

Do you know Elizabeth Gaskell? I've seen the movies of her novels and they are really good ... I bet the novels are even better!

I just realized I mistyped her name... it's Francine Rivers. I loved "Redeeming Love" as well and have also enjoyed her little novellas on different women of the Bible.
